More about me

I'm passionate about plants and places and I love learning and seeing others learn. I've 25 years' experience in the fields of community horticulture, nature conservation and environmental education in the North-east, Derbyshire, South London, Birmingham, Coventry and Nottingham. I've worked with people of all ages and backgrounds in school grounds, allotments, parks, local nature reserves, community gardens and  residential homes, and I also managed an Ecology Centre with a couple of acres of grounds.

This blog is a work in progress, designed to showcase what I do and to give my learners, colleagues, friends, etc., a chance to see how and what I've been growing. It's called 'It's The Gardening Lady...' because I do lots of gardening education work at day centres and residential homes, and when I appear on my bike with loaded panniers, I often hear the shout "it's the gardening lady!" So when I needed a name for my freelance venture, this came to mind... as did the logo.
